Too many times perfection can get in the way of change. Why? You are closer to perfection with something you already know. But what if that wasn't good enough? This is why I'm challenging myself to do more crafts - particularly sewing. No matter how much you desire something to be so, it will remain an aloof concept until you actually do something about it. Nothing speaks louder than your actions. So, do I really want to sew? Really really? Then I better do something about it! That is what this blog is meant to do. To push me to rediscover skills I've thought I've lost and to hone the skills I never really felt that I had.
Project # 1: a beautiful 60's jumper in a black and white houndstooth pattern. I bought this pattern off of etsy.com and amazingly, all the pattern pieces were still uncut. Goal for tonight? Cut the Fabric! I've had this pattern and material for over a year now and I'm finally saying, "Enough!" I will finish this in 2011.
Matthew and I decided to have a handmade Christmas, so if I am not working on this project, I'm probably busy with some other crafts. I may not post too much on those, because, really, its supposed to be somewhat of a surprise!
What about you? Do you have a dream that you keep delaying? Sometimes it is a matter of priorities, but if the timing isn't now, ask yourself, when? Life has enough obstacles without you being one of them!
